Breaking Out of the Gridlock: Neville Brody
Context
Created to celebrate one of my greatest design influences, Neville Brody, this campaign was built around an identity system inspired by his belief that design innovation begins with understanding the rules before breaking them. Through animation, a booklet, and a poster series, the project reintroduces audiences to Brody’s contributions to typography and his punk-influenced approach to graphic design.

Booklet
16-page booklet detailing Brody’s work, life, and philosophy. Experimentation with unconventional use of identation, leading, and negative space makes up the core of this design system, also reflecting Brody’s practice of breaking rules in design.
Reflection
When I first began this project, I was drawn to Neville Brody’s bold visual style and iconic typographic work. As I dug deeper, however, I became even more fascinated by the philosophy of embracing experimentation and uncertainty as part of the creative process.
His way of practice pushed me to make risks with my own design system and typographic decisions, while becoming more comfortable with exploration and iteration. More than a study of Brody’s work, this project became a valuable learning experience that continues to influence my personal style and approach to design.
